Dug Road will be closed Wednesday.

The City of Zanesville Street Division will be closing Dug Road Wednesday, June 8 for clean up, weather permitting. The rain date for the project will be Thursday, June 9.

High Water Road Closures: This may not be a complete list of all of the county and townships roads with water. Please drive with caution. 

SR 715 behind Mohawk is closed

CR 6 south of CR 75 is closed due to high water.

At this time SR 16 has water over the roadway near the county line. ODOT is on scene and SR 16 is closed. Please us SR 60-SR 541 as a detour, but still be careful of flooded roadways.

ZANESVILLE, OHIO (WHIZ) - The Muskingum County Sewer Department says east main street will close from 225 East Main to County Road Six starting at 8:00 A.M. Monday morning and ending at 4 P.M. Traffic won't be able to get to County Road Six coming down East Main Street during this time.

 The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office is alerting motorists of a road closure Tuesday night.

They say a silo collapsed on the roadway near 10965 Norfield Road around 8 p.m. Tuesday evening. Detour signs have been posted. No word yet on when the road will reopen, but crews are expected to be in the area to clean up the collapsed silo in the morning.

A couple of road closures have been announced in Muskingum County for this week.

Clay Pike Road will be closed Monday, June 30, 2014 for cross culvert replacement. This closure will be between South Pleasant Grove Road and Fulkerson Road from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. weather permitting.

The Zanesville Department of Public Service has also announced that Market Street will be closed from the intersection of 2nd & Market and continuing west to the end of Market Street...

Zanesville City Officials announced Friday that a portion of Taylor Street will be closed starting Monday.

Crews will begin work on a large culvert replacement project and will be closing Taylor  Street between Wilmer and Bell Streets for 45 days.

However, this section of Taylor Street will be open on Tuesday, November 5th for Election Day.

Motorists are being asked to use alternate routes during the closure.

A two vehicle accident, involving a semi and an Ohio Department of Transportation truck, shut down traffic on Interstate 70 in both westbound lanes, Wednesday afternoon for several hours.

According to Ohio State Highway Patrol Lieutenant Matt Boyd, around noon, O-DOT was sweeping the inside berm of the interstate through the city of Zanesville, near the state street exit, when the semi-truck driven by, Timothy Peyton, struck the carriage that is attached to the sweeper that protects...

Around 5 pm, the police scanner alerted WHIZ to an injury accident on Maysville Pike, US Route 22, near State Route 345. Two motorcycles and a camper collided sending four people to the hospital and one of those by medflight. No report of their conditions.

WHIZ has a team on the scene. Not many details have been released yet. Route 22 was closed for several hours to clear the wreckage and to perform investigations, but it has now been reopened. We will release more...

Two Muskingum County roads will be shut down Tuesday.

The Muskingum County Engineer's Office says Canal Road will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for road repairs. The closing will occur between Vickers Hill Road and Clay Street.

Also closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. is Ransbottom Road. It will be closed from Baughman Run Road to Payne Road for a cross-culvert replacement.

Drivers should use alternate routes around both roadways.
