This winter snow and ice will bring with it a lot of damage, especially to our roadways.

Zanesville Mayor, Jeff Tilton, said we may not see as many potholes come spring, due to new crack-sealer being used to repair city streets. Instead of repaving with asphalt, city workers are sealing the cracks with a filling that's proven to extend the life of the street by three to five years.

A popular shortcut past Maple Avenue is now closed to through traffic.

Center Drive is decades old and the wear and tear that has developed over the past couple of years is now showing very prominently. We stopped by City Hall and spoke to Public Service Director who told us its a much larger issue than potholes alone.

The Muskingum County Engineer's Office is alerting motorists of a road repair project on Linden Avenue.

Officials say the road will be closed between Military Road and Taylor Street  starting Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 a.m to 3:30 p.m. each day.

The intersection of Linden Avenue and Military Road will also be closed to traffic.

Motorists should use an alternate route during this time.

Zanesville City Officials announced Monday that a portion of Taylor Street will be closed this week.

Starting Tuesday at 8 a.m., Taylor Street will be closed for 3 days from Carmen Drive to Vinsel Street.

Detours will be posted during the closing.

Crews will be working on road repairs from water main breaks.

The Muskingum County Engineer's Office announced Licking Road will be closed starting Wednesday.

Officials say the road will be closed on weekdays only from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  between Rehl Road and Dillon Falls Road while crews make repairs.

The work is expected to last until June 1.

Motorists are being advised to use alternate routes.

The road will be open to local traffic only including school buses.

The project will be performed weather permitting.
