Road resurfacing continues across the area, and so does the bidding process for companies to get the projects. 

The Muskingum County Commissioners received eight bids Monday for four different projects. After several brief meetings announcing the bids, the commissioners took all of them under advisement. Now, the county engineer's office will review all of the bids.

The Muskingum County Community Development Director met with County Commissioners Monday.

The meeting was to give an update on the current bid situation for road re-surfacing in the Villages of Philo and Dresden. As of the last meeting, only one bid had been placed on the Philo project. Shelia Samson gave us an update on the current situation.

Monday afternoon, three construction companies from Zanesville, Thornville and Gambier, attempted to out bid one another for three road resurfacing projects this summer.

The blind bids were read allowed to the Muskingum County Commissioners and the Engineers Office for three separate road projects.

Several road resurfacing projects around Muskingum County could mean some traffic delays for motorists.

The Muskingum County Engineer's Office announced Monday several projects taking place the next couple of months that will result in single lane closures.
 

The projects will begin Tuesday and Wednesday on Norfield Road between State Route 93 and Sonora Road and Sonora Road between Norfield Road and the railroad tracks.

The Muskingum County Engineer's announce they will begin work on Homestead Drive.

The Engineer's office said the roadway near the East Pike will be closed Monday August 16 through Thursday, August 19.

Crews will be resurfacing the tunnel floor underneath the railroad overpass.
