For years, the Southeastern Ohio Solid Waste Management District has accepted electronic recyclables at a special event. 

The event is going on Monday through Wednesday of next week. The district will accept all electronics relating to TVs, phones and computers. Robert Reiter is the SEO Solid Waste Management District Coordinator. He said many of the things accepted shouldn't be thrown out because of the make up of them.

If you have old televisions or computers just sitting around, the Southeast Ohio Solid Waste Management District wants to help you dispose of them safely.

They are holding an electronics recycling event which runs Monday through Wednesday.  It is available free of charge to anyone from the area.

Do you have an old television or computer at home that's collecting dust? There's a chance for you to safely dispose of those unwanted items.

The Southeastern Ohio Joint Solid Waste Management District is having an electronics drop off on Old Adamsville Road at the recycle center this week. The drop off started Monday at 9 a.m.. and will end on Wednesday.

There's a chance next week for Muskingum County residents to get rid of unwanted electronic items.

Starting Monday, July 16 and continuing until Wednesday, July 18, the Southeastern Ohio Joint Solid Waste Management District will hold a drop off for computers, monitors and televisions.

The items will be put on pallets, boxed up and taken to San Antonio, Texas to be dismantled. But, residents shouldn't worry about their personal information being viewed by others.

A local recycling program wants to collect your old electronics.

Muskingum County Recycling and Prevention is having a three day recycling event.

"We are collecting computers, televisions, monitors, electronics,  printers, copiers, switch boxes, telephones, and we're even collecting cell phones," Robert Reiter said.

Reiter said they take them to a place that offers the best security on computer hard drives.
