Tonight's slippery roads are to blame for several area accidents with injuries, but for one woman, she was lucky to walk away uninjured from a rollover accident.

According to Trooper Keith Roe with the State Highway patrol, a woman traveling westbound on interstate 70 near the Gratiot exit lost control of her Jeep Liberty sending it into the median and rolling over several times. A man is cited with failure to control after a rollover crash on I-70 East.

Trooper Adam McKenzie of the State Highway Patrol says at around 6 p.m. Ryan Scalan, 23, of Virginia swerved to miss a deer near the State Route 83 exit.

"The white Ford 150 was east bound on 70 traveled off the right side of the roadway struck the embankment overturned and then struck the highway sign," he said.

There was a one-car rollover accident on Pinkerton Road.


Trooper Stephen Williams of the State Highway Patrol says Sarah Twyman of Zanesville was heading Northbound on Pinkerton in a Ford Expedition when she fishtailed on the wet surface and hit the embankment on the left side of the road. Two are taken to the hospital after a one car rollover accident on the Maysville Pike.

A Chevy Cavalier was heading Eastbound on Maysville Pike when it crossed opposing lanes of traffic and came to rest in a ditch on it's roof. An accident on Adamsville Road sends one person to the hospital.

The Muskingum County Sherriff's Department was on the scene. Officer Hindel says 18-year-old Christopher Sims Jr. was traveling West on Adamsville Road when he lost control of a red Dodge Dakota. The vehicle landed on its roof in the front lawn of 1633 Adamsville Road. The passenger in the vehicle was Sims' sister. She was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital.
