The Rotary Club District Governor of our area, Randy Davies, stopped in Zanesville today.

Overcoming obstacles in life can be difficult for adults, let alone children.

Tuesday, seven high school students proved that they're not defined by difficulties. These students fought through issues with family, birth defects and illness to rise through life's challenges. They were rewarded for their battle with a $1,000 scholarship from the Rotary Club of Zanesville.

Seven area high school seniors were awarded the Phoenix Award at Tuesday's Rotary meeting. The Phoenix Award is given to students who have overcome and thrived during personal obstacles.

Santa's sleigh made an early stop in Zanesville at the Rotary Club Christmas party.

Since the 1920s Adornetto's Pizza has hosted the event for special needs children.  Rotary Club President John Hill said each child makes a wish list so the gifts are personalized.

The Zanesville Rotary Club presented the Phoenix Award to several outstanding Muskingum County seniors.

All of the students were selected for overcoming some obstacle in school, whether it be health related or academically. The award acknowledges their hard work and efforts.

A group of young professionals from Korea took a field trip to Barnes Advertising Corporation in Zanesville this morning.

The Zanesville Rotary Club is launching one of its biggest fundraisers of the year.

The 37th annual John Imlay Rose Sale kicked off Tuesday. The fundraiser benefits the Rotary Club which is a staple to community projects here in Zanesville.

Area children are receiving Christmas gifts early this season.

The Rotary Club of Zanesville held its annual Christmas party Tuesday afternoon at Adornetto's Restaurant on Maple Avenue. 63 local elementary school children, their teachers and aides were invited to enjoy a delicious meal and to open up presents given to them by Santa.
