ZANESVILLE, Ohio - of Zanesville's youngest residents will learn a few special safety-tips this summer.

The Carr Center in partnership with the Zanesville Daybreak Rotary is gearing up for 3 weeks of learning for children ages 4 and 5 years old. During the program the kids will focus on fire safety, gun safety, stranger danger tips and more. Executive Director, Kim Hosler said currently they are seeking volunteers for the weeks of June 27th and July 11th.

For the next couple weeks, kids will practice safety tips at Safety Town. 

The annual Safety Town opened at Coburn United Methodist Church Monday morning and dozens of kids romped through the mini city. Safety Town program director, Bethany Schiele, said kids learn many different safety practices while at Safety Town.

Area youth are taking a stroll through Safety Town.

The Carr Center is hosting its first summer session this week at Coburn United Methodist Church. Students at Safety Town will get to learn about finger printing, stranger danger, as well as water, fire, and traffic safety.

The Carr Center's Safety Town program is underway this week at the Coburn United Methodist Church.

The course is designed to teach 4 and 5-year-old kids how to cross the street, the importance of wearing helmets and stranger danger among other safety skills.
