One local organization is noticing an increase of visitors in their emergency shelter due to the recently cooler temperatures.

The Salvation Army is preparing for the cold weather by getting the message out about their emergency shelter. We spoke to Program Director, Dustin Redmond who tells us the purpose of the shelter is to help folks get back on their feet.

You can be an angel to a child in need this Christmas.

The Salvation army said over 1,000 children are still in need for this year's Angel Tree Program. The angels can be found on trees at the Colony Square Mall, Community Bank and Century National Bank. The Salvation Army and the Zanesville Renner Theatre have teamed up to present a fundraiser Dinner Theater.

The show will be filled with music and laughter and feature a prime rib dinner. Major Ralph Campbell says this year will be different than in the past.
