The colder months are coming....and now is the time to clean out the coat closet and donate.

The Salvation Army will once again team-up with Old Town Cleaners to collect "Coats for Kids." Gently worn coats are donated, cleaned and repaired by Old Town Cleaners and then distributed through the Salvation Army. Recent heat advisories have many seeking relief - only to find a shortage of fans.

Last week the South East Ohio 2-1-1 Call Center of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan Counties received more than 40 phone calls of people asking where they could find a box fan as a relief from the heat. Salvation Army Office Assistant Mindy McCloy said both Community Action and the Salvation Army ran out of fans.

The Salvation Army is clearing the tables of clothing.

The organization is holding its annual school clothing giveaway. The office coordinator for the Salvation Army said that donations of boys and girls clothing were both up this year.
