The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Muskingum County hosted an Ohio State vs. Illinois football game viewing fundraising event at the Barn.

 Zane State College and Muskingum University are teaming up to give local college students a path to a Bachelor's Degree.

The college and university signed a memorandum of agreement June 4 at the Galleria of the Advanced Science and Technology Center on Zane State's campus. The Muskingum County Community Foundation is still accepting applications for one scholarship and offering help with financial aid.

The District Nine Science Day took place at the new Zane State Science and Technology building on Saturday.

More than a hundred students in grades five through 12 competed in the competition. Six counties were represented including Monroe, Washington, Coshoction, Noble, Guernsey and Muskingum. The children's projects were judged on a variety of aspects.

A John Glenn High School Freshman is named Miss Columbus Teen for 2014 .

A local girl from Zanesville High School won two scholarships for her high academic standards.

Andrea Ross is the recipient of both the Judge Perry B. Jackson Scholarship that was established in 1991 and the Minority Business Association Scholarship that is provided by funds collected at the annual Ribfest. The rising cost of college can be stressful for students, but scholarships can help lower the price tag.
