With 1 in 6 seniors going hungry on a daily basis, the Muskingum County Center for Seniors is "Leading the Fight Against Senior Hunger," a theme they've established for their upcoming events.

Philo High School seniors planning to go to college may qualify for some scholarship money.

Through the Muskingum County Community Foundation, the Margaret Carol Barringer Scholarship will award a graduating senior $2,500.

Eligibility Requirements:
-Graduating Senior of Philo High School
-Must have GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Local seniors put a unique "spin" on Bowl for Kid's Sake, a fundraiser for Big Brothers, Big Sisters.

The players Wii bowled at the Center for Seniors. The competition featured 10 teams including last year's champions who traveled from Morgan County.

"The residents wanted to come up and support the big brothers, big sisters and help them out in anyway they can and that is what we are here for and to have a good time," said Judy Cain from Highland Oaks.

Local government officials are lending a helping hand to feed seniors in our area.

As a part of the national March for Meals campaign, the Muskingum County Commissioners along with Zanesville Mayor Butch Zwelling, assisted the Muskingum County Center for Seniors in passing out meals to the elderly on Wednesday. Executive Director Terry Dunn said the goal is to raise awareness about senior hunger.

One Muskingum County organization is continuing a long time holiday tradition.

The Fraternal Order of Police hosted its annual senior holiday dinner. Volunteers from the FOP donated their time to help serve a warm meal to more than 1200 senior citizens.

359 campers are taking over the Muskingum County Fairgrounds.

Those who are part of the Good Sam Club, which has 30,000 members in Ohio alone, are gathering to do some camping. Ohio State Director, David Spragg, says many of these folks are still young at heart.

The Tri-Valley High School Class of 2010 is looking to the future.

Wearing their black and gold caps and gowns proudly on the football field this afternoon, they marched in front of friends and family, and after moving their tassels from right to left, these students officially graduated.
