The sentencing phase for convicted murderer Lafonse Dixon begins Tuesday morning. In testimony Dixon's two younger brothers took the stand to plead for his life. They told the court he was a good father to his kids and kept them off the streets and out of trouble. A Zanesville man was sentenced Monday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court on charges in connection with an incident at the Lighthouse Inn last summer.

30-year-old Cody Fisher appeared before Judge Kelly Cottrill where he received a 10 year prison sentence on charges of aggravated robbery, kidnapping, attempted aggravated arson and theft.

Some Muskingum County offenders are getting a second chance to show they can change their ways.

"I don't lie anymore, I don't try to do everything I can to get money to buy drugs which is what I was doing all day everyday when I was using, I was a mess," said Megan Lewis.

Muskingum County Common Pleas Judge Kelly Cottrill sentences a Zanesville woman, who pled guilty in July to stealing more than $142,000 from a volunteer group at Genesis.

46-year-old Tamera Mealey stood before Judge Cottrill in tears.

"I would like to indicate my client has no criminal history. She's cooperated with authorities. She's acknowledged her wrongdoing and accepted responsibility, and she's very remorseful, " says Mealey's Defense Attnory, Mr. Stubbins.

As Kim Saunders awaits for the trials of Terrell and Heather Nowlin, it's given her a lot of time to think about the potential sentencings they face if convicted.
