Multiple shots were fired Friday night on Spangler Drive in Zanesville.

Authorities were called to the 600-block of Spangler near Owens Street shortly before 6:30. On the scene they found at least seven shell casings. Vickey Chason's family was having a Memorial Day picnic during the shooting.

A man was grazed by a gunshot Friday on Putnam Avenue in Zanesville.

The call came in shortly before 8:30 at 1036 Putnam Avenue. Zanesville Police Officers on the scene said they're not yet sure of a motive for the attack, but it could have been an attempted robbery. One shot was fired at the victim and grazed his leg slightly.

The suspect was described over the scanner as a black male, with a red bandana over his face, wearing a hoodie and red and black shorts.

A Zanesville man pleads guilty in connection to a fatal shooting last April.

24-year-old James Tyrone McCrae appeared in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court Monday where he pled guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter with a gun specification and one count of having a weapon under disability.

McCrae was arrested in August for the shooting death of 32-year-old Shane Goins.

Thirteen-year old Michael Roger Hulsey, Jr., is charged with two counts in connection with the death of his three-year old brother.

Charges were filed this morning by the Muskingum County Prosecuter's Office in the death of Shannon Michael Harrop Jr.

Zanesville Police have released more information about a shooting Wednesday night in Zanesville. Detective Ric Roush says it happened around 11:25 at the intersection of Luck Avenue and Ohio Street. The victim is now identified as 27-year-old Dajuan D. McKenzie of Zanesville. Roush says Officers found him in the roadway suffering from gunshot wounds. McKenzie was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital and then flown to Grant Medical Center in Columbus where he remains in critical condition...

Zanesville Police investigate the shooting of a local man.

Lt. Bill Shaw said shortly after 11pm Wednesday the department received multiple 911 calls about shots fired in the Luck Avenue/Ohio Street area.

When officers arrived they found a 27-year-old male had been shot. He was flown to Grant Medical Center where he's in critical condition.

Lt. Shaw said investigators continue to follow up on leads and that a dark colored SUV was seen possibly leaving the scene.

The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting death of a three-year-old boy. Initial reports indicate the child suffered a gun shot to the face from a small caliber shotgun.

Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Lecocq says at 11:40 this morning deputies received a frantic 9-1-1 call reporting the shooting at 1975 Back Run Road in Philo.

An Athens County man is indicted on formal charges in court.

26-year-old Matthew Culbertson appeared yesterday and faces one count of murder, two counts of involuntary manslaughter, four counts of felonious assault, one count of reckless homicide, and one count of using a weapon while intoxicated.

He will be arraigned this Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

A Perry County woman is dead after a shooting incident yesterday.

The Athens County Sheriff's office says it responded to Biddyville Road in New Marshfield and found that 22-year-old Jerri Vernon of New Straitsville had a gun shot wound near her stomach.

She was taken to O'Bleness Memorial Hospital where she died about an hour later.

A Mount Perry woman charged in connection with a shooting last month appeared in court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.

Perry County Court officials say 38-year-old Sabra Hilliard's case will now go before a Grand Jury sometime later this month.

Hilliard is accused of shooting Bill Wilson during an altercation at her home on Cimmaron Road on January 30th.

Hilliard is being held in the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond.
