Old Man Winter left his mark on Southeastern Ohio early Tuesday morning...

The winter season officially begins next week, but the Ohio Department of Transportation's Muskingum County garage reports that our area saw two inches of snowfall on Tuesday morning. Dozens of schools in the area were closed, and multiple counties were placed under snow emergencies... But some residents said the snowfall did not put a damper on their plans.

It’s a snowy end to the week in Zanesville and other parts of Ohio.  The snow started falling just before 10 a.m. and quickly became an issue for area residents.  Most schools decided on early dismissal for their students in case more snowfall occurred than the 3 inches that was predicted.  Local Sheriff’s Department’s also issued Snow Emergencies which can be found by clicking on the banner at the top of this page.  There have been a number of accidents...

What began as winter wonderland is beginning to wear on the patience of many residents.

The constant flurry of snow and freezing temperatures are harsher this year than the ice and mild snowfall of last year.

"I think this is worse, we have had a lot of snow, deep snow, and the cold weather we have had some really low temperatures that affected us also," says Mike Liston.
