A methamphetamine lab was seized from a Somerset home where a 10-month-old child was living.

The community of Somerset celebrated the Fourth of July holiday with their annual festival Saturday afternoon.

Local residents turned out to enjoy a wide variety of activities kicking off with the parade at 11AM. Ventriloquists, magicians, a talent show, pedal pull, car show, and of course, food and fireworks were also all present at Saturday's event. Authorities in Perry County are continuing to investigate the discovery of methamphetamine making materials at a home in Somerset.

The Perry County Sheriff's Office says on December 4th, the Somerset Fire Department responded to a trash fire behind a residence on West Gay Street.

Three people are in custody after police bust a meth lab in Perry County

The Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force received a tip just after 6:30 that some people had purchased supplies to make methamphetamine.

Perry County Sheriff's Sergeant Pat Corder said authorities were able to track down a suspects' truck to 3530 Township Road 123 in Reading Township, just outside of Somerset.

Water Service Restored to Somerset. 10:00 a.m. Wednesday


Businesses and residents of Somerset are without water after a water main break Tuesday night.

Village crews were on the scene of what they call a major water main break at two different locations along a residential section of East Main Street.

A crewman told WHIZ's Gabe Ross that he had shut off water to the entire village as a result of the water main break.

Hundreds of people in Perry County gathered in the Somerset Square Saturday for the 3rd Annual Perry County Art Walk.

Over 40 local artists and vendors were on hand to sell and showcase their artistic creations.

Jody McGaughey is in charge of coordinating the vendors for this year's art walk, and said the idea started three years ago when a local artist wanted to put his talents on display.

The Village of Somerset Water Department has issued a boil alert for all homes in the Fancy Hill addition.

This includes: St. Patrick's Drive, Fancy Street, Fancy Court, and David Street.

The boil advisory is in effect until further notice due to a main line water break.

A child was Life-Flighted to Columbus after being struck by an SUV in Somerset earlier Monday afternoon.

According to Trooper Pat Townsend of the State Highway Patrol, Jodi Beckstede was driving her black Chevy Tahoe down West Main Street around 5 p.m. Monday when she noticed 10-year-old Chelsey Searles and other kids riding bicycles down an adjacent alleyway.

Townsend said from there, Searles pulled out on her bike in front of the vehicle and was struck at around 5 mph.
