 A fundraiser was held Sunday to benefit a local police department.

The Dresden Police Department held their monthly spaghetti dinner at the Dresden Senior Center to raise money for their Cruiser fund. Chief of Police Jeff Garver said he feels the community appreciates the idea that they're rolling up their sleeves to dig in and help serve.

Tragedy struck Adamsville last Monday when Adam Shinn died during a hunting accident. Today, December 7th, the Adamsville Fire Department showed their support for Shinn's family by hosting a spaghetti dinner benefit.

Many members of the community including hundreds of the Shinn family's friends, neighbors and supporters showed up for the spaghetti dinner. They all enjoyed the five dollar meal provided by the Adamsville Fire Department.

People in the Dresden community came together to support those who keep a watchful eye over the village.

About 150 people came out to the Municipal Building on the corner of Ninth and Chestnut streets for a spaghetti luncheon.

Assistant Police Chief Scott Caldwell said the proceeds raised from the meal will benefit the Dresden Police Department's cruiser fund.

An area family is turning to the community for help after their father unexpectedly passed away.

A funeral service is being held Monday at the Burrell Funeral Home for 52-year-old Rick Chandler, who died in his sleep Easter Sunday.

Chandler's daughter, Mary said that they need to raise $3,500 for funeral expenses for her father, who she describes as a friendly, "fix-it" man.

A first-time fundraiser is a success for Zanesville middle and high school wrestlers.

Wrestlers and their parents and coaches dished out spaghetti, salad and breadsticks at Zanesville Community High School.  Zanesville Wrestling Boosters President Mike Milner said they receive funding for transportation and event registration fees, but other expenses can quickly add up.

The community is being asked to ban together and show their support for a Maysville High School student suffering from Scoliosis.

The curvature in Holly Sunafrank's spine causes severe back pain and pressure on her internal organs. A benefit dinner at St. Johns Lutheran Church will help off set the cost needed to correct her spine. The surgery is estimated to cost about $8,000 plus a percentage of surgical and after care cost.
