Just three months after the Zanesville City Council voted to reduce the speed limit on Northpointe Drive, opinions on the decision are all over the place.

If you plan on driving on Northpointe Drive in the near future, you will notice a major change and need to slow down.

Due to a traffic order passed by Zanesville City Council, the speed limit on Northpointe Drive, between State Route 146 to State Route 60, has been reduced from 45 to 35 miles per hour, effective Tuesday.

Drivers can legally zip along some rural interstate highway more quickly now that the new speed limit is 70 mph along some sections of roadway around Ohio. The Ohio Department of Transportation has the speed limit is increasing on more than 570 miles of interstate highway. The increase applies to part of interstates 70, 71, 75, 77 and 90. It does not cover sections of those roads in major metropolitan areas and a few small cities along the way.

The Ohio House passes a bill that sets in motion a plan to increase Ohio's speed limit.
