For those who could no longer wait to start planning their Spring gardens, Saturday was the perfect day to get into the swing of things.

That was when the Muskingum Valley Garden Society held their 11th Annual "Spring Fever" Gardening Symposium at Ohio University-Zanesville. The Muskingum Valley Garden Society's annual home gardening symposium is almost here!

The event, tomorrow at 7:30 in the morning, will feature several speakers on topics including container, vegetable, and organic gardening as well as lawn and tree care. One of the speakers is a prominent writer and botanical artist, Peter Loewer, who will give tips for small home gardens.

Monday's sunshine and warmer temperatures may have you itching to get outdoors.

This Saturday, the Muskingum County Garden Society wants to get you ready for the gardening season through their "Spring Fever" Home Gardening Symposium.

Some local kids are finding creative ways to get ready for spring.

Maysville students are busy painting rain barrels for the Spring Fever Gardening Symposium this Saturday. They are learning about water conservation and why it's important. A member of the Muskingum Valley Garden Society Kathy Mohler said the barrels will be auctioned off at the symposium this weekend.
