Zanesville Noon Rotary Club has a new President.

Stacy Clapper has been the President of the club since July first of this year. Clapper tells us about some of her plans that the future will bring.

Muskingum County, the city of Zanesville and the Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority are joining forces to create the Zanesville-Muskingum County Brownfields Assessment Coalition.

The Muskingum County Convention Facilities Board of Directors voted 6-0 with two members absent and two abstaining from voting, to terminate Executive Director, Vicki Maple. The board also voted to install Stacy Clapper as Chairwoman of the Board. The Zanesville Community Improvement Corporation met Wednesday afternoon at the Mayor's Office to discuss the future of two properties in Zanesville.

The first is on 131 Market Street, it used to be a passenger depot back when trains were used heavily as transportation. Following the passing of a City Council ordinance, the historic building is now the CIC's property.

The City of Zanesville will soon search for new owners of a historic building.

At last month's City Council meeting officials passed an ordinance to allow the building at 131 Market Street to be turned over to the Community Improvement Corporation for sale. The boarded up building was once a passenger depot for the railroad.

The City of Zanesville is looking for input from the community.

The city is holding a public hearing to discuss this year's Community Development Block Grant. Last year the city turned its focus on the Woodlawn Avenue/Moxahala Avenue area due to a sewer separation project taking place. The City of Zanesville becomes one of the top five cities in the state to receive a housing grant.

The city recently was awarded a $500,000 Community Housing Improvement grant to help low to moderate income families fix their homes. This year they plan to focus on the Moxahala-Woodlawn area.
