The State Fire Marshal's Office investigates the scene of a Sunday morning fire in Coshocton.

The Coshocton Fire Department said the State Fire Marshal's Office is at the vacant structure at 540 South 16th Street, Monday.

Officials said that the fire was reported around 3:50 a.m. and they spent three hours on the scene.

Right now there's no suspected cause of the fire and $37,000 in damage was reported. The home is considered a total loss.

An area man remains in critical condition after an explosion and fire destroyed his house outside of Newark.

WHIZ Reporter Gabe Ross went to Licking County to find out more.

Just before midnight Sunday night, neighbors in this small community near Vanatta were awakened by a loud explosion.

A fire that severely damaged a New Lexington home Thursday is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal's Office.

The fire broke out at 303 West Water Street shortly before 3:30 this afternoon.

"There was two occupants home at the time of the fire. They was notified by somebody walking by that their home was on fire," says Capt. Don Phillips, with the New Lexington Fire Department.

The State Fire Marshal's office has ruled one of Tuesday's fires on National Road as arson.

Spokesman Shane Cartmill says investigators have determined that the fire at a trailer home at 5971 National Road was intentionally set.

No one was home at the time of the fire which broke out just before 5:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Investigators continue to look for information into Sunday's barn fire in Morgan County that killed eight horses.

Shane Cartmill with the State Fire Marshal's Office says a Blue Ribbon Arson reward of up to$5,000 is now being offered to anyone with information leading to the identification of the person or persons responsible.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen something out of the ordinary at or around the time of the fire to come forward.

The State Fire Marshal's Office is asking for the public's help involving a Cambridge fire that injured four firefighters Monday.

The vacant home in the 400 block of Steubenville Avenue was recently condemned. Spokesman Shane Cartmill says the cause of the fire remains undetermined. He says officials haven't been able to rule out an accidental or intentional cause. The only utility the home had was electrical service.

The cause of a fire that destroyed a home in Thornville a week ago will be ruled "undetermined" by the State Fire Marshal's Office.

Spokesman Shane Cartmill says due to the extensive damage to the home at 13557 Pine Road, investigators were unable to determine an origin and cause of the fire.

The Millersport Fire Department responded to the fire on Sunday May 16th around 5:00 a.m.

Authorities have released the name of the man killed in a fire Wednesday in Newark.

According to the Licking County Coroner's Office 37-year-old Eric Gerstner died of carbon monoxide poisoning. Sergeant Scott Snow with the Newark Police Department said the fire broke out shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday morning in an apartment at 425 Mount Vernon Road.
