With the weather finally beginning to warm up, the State Highway Patrol is urging drivers to watch out for motorcyclists on county roads.

Lt. Matt Boyd says last year in Muskingum County there were 42 motorcycle crashes and of that number five were fatalities. He says some of these accidents can be prevented by looking out for riders.

" People traveling in cars need to pay attention to motorcycles. It seems as though they don't get the recognition or respect on the roadway....

On Saturday Afternoon, a New York woman was injured after her car overturned, leaving her trapped at a rest stop on Interstate 70.

According to the Zanesville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, shortly after 3 p.m., Lynda Weaver, 63 was traveling westbound on I-70 near mile marker 161 when she went off the right side of the road.

"She was attempting to pull into the rest area," said Sergeant, Melanie Appleman. she hit some embankments, some rocks and then overturned...

The three vehicle crash occured on I-70 . The Ohio State Patrol responded to a call about a single vehicle crash where a car had rolled over into the grassy median. While the responding patrol officer was waiting on back-up and fire personnel to assist, she saw another crash coming her way.

Adamsville Fire and EMS responded to a two car crash at the intersection of Ohio 93 and Ohio 83 in Otsego Saturday afternoon.

According to State Highway Patrol Trooper Adam McKenzie around 1:17 p.m. a black pick-up truck was traveling northbound on Ohio 83 attempted to turn left onto Ohio 93, failed to yield and struck on oncoming silver car traveling southbound on Ohio 93.

10 people are dead after five fatal crashes in Muskingum County since the start of this year.

The first happened in early March, when 13-year-old Alison Clark was killed on Raiders Road. It was followed by two missing Licking County men who were found dead in their car after it went into the Muskingum River. It was a deadly start to the day in Perry County Thursday morning.

The Lancaster Post of the Highway Patrol says two people were killed in a head-on collision on State Route 13 just north of Somerset at 8:15 am.  Troopers identify the fatally injured victims as 24-year-old Franklin Merckle and 25-year-old Jeremy Penrod, both of New Lexington.

Authorities say a Pataskala man whose vehicle was slammed into Monday when a man fleeing police ran a red light has passed away.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a Sunday night accident.

Troopers say 38-year-old Russel Pride was driving his buick around 54-95 Pinkerton Road when he lost control of the vehicle, crashing into a ditch. Newtown Township also responded to the scene.

The Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that took place just before midnight Thursday.

Troopers say that 34-year-old Jodi Holland of Lancaster was traveling west onto County Road 33 A near Horns Mill Road in Berne Township, when she struck a guardrail and was ejected from her vehicle.

Troopers say Holland wasn't wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, which is still under investigation.
