The State Highway Patrol announces the site of Friday's sobriety checkpoint in Licking County.

The Granville Post said the checkpoint will take place on State Route 13 between 9 p.m. and Midnight Friday.

The checkpoint is funded by federal grants and is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers. The checkpoint will be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to combat alcohol related injury and fatal crashes.

The Newark Police Department said that semi trucks aren't allowed on a Newark roadway during construction.

Public Information Officer Sergeant Scott Snow said that due to construction on State Route 13 there is no semi tractor trailer or large truck traffic permitted between State Route 16 to the south of Deo Drive to the north.

Trucks should use north 21st Street.

This construction is scheduled to continue through July 3rd.

Traffic on State Route 13 in Perry County was slowed down around 4 p.m. Tuesday after a one vehicle rollover crash.

According to Trooper R.J. Wilson with the Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol, 35-year-old Tammy Wolfe was traveling southbound on State Route 13 near Palmer Road in New Lexington when she crashed.

"She drove off the road, struck an embankment and overturned. She was transported to Fairfield Medical Center for her injuries," says Trooper Wilson...

State Route 13 between Interstate 70 and Thornville is now open after an accident closed the roadway Thursday morning.

Dispatchers with the Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol said the accident took place around 8:45a.m. on State Route 13 at Maple Street, south of Edgewater, when two vehicles hit head on.

The patrol said the drivers of the vehicles were taken to Licking Memorial Hospital. Their injuries are unknown at this time and the crash remains under investigation.

It was a deadly start to the day in Perry County Thursday morning.

The Lancaster Post of the Highway Patrol says two people were killed in a head-on collision on State Route 13 just north of Somerset at 8:15 am.  Troopers identify the fatally injured victims as 24-year-old Franklin Merckle and 25-year-old Jeremy Penrod, both of New Lexington.

The Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol says two people have been killed in a two vehicle head-on accident on State Route 13 in Perry County.  It happened just north of Somerset near Stone Quarry Road at 8:15 this morning.

The accident shutdown the roadway for a few hours,,,but it has not been re-opened.

Troopers says the crash involved a black sport utility vehicle and a white van.  Investigators say the s-u-v was passing in a no-passing...

Perry County drivers should be aware a state route is closing Monday.

The Ohio Department of Transportation announced that State Route 13 near Moxahala will closing for culvert replacements.

Motorists should detour by taking 13 North to 155 North to 93 North to 13 North, or if you're coming the opposite way take 13 South to 93 South to 155 South to 13 South.

The road is closing for multiple culvert replacements and should re-open Friday February 5th, weather permitting.
