The State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that occurred Friday in Licking County.
It happened shortly after 3:00 p.m. on State Route 16 in Granville Township. According to the patrol, James B. Loats, 46, of Granville was traveling eastbound on State Route 16 in a 2003 Ford Taurus. His vehicle then traveled left of center and struck a 2014 Mack truck driven by 57-year-old David C. Edwards of Somerset.

According to the Coshocton County Sherriff's Department three people were injured following an accident that took place Friday evening.
At approximately 5:40 p.m. the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office received a call in reference to a accident on State Route 16 near Township RD. 347. Once on the scene deputies found that a vehicle operated by 55-year-old Dennis Seifert was stopped in traffic when he was struck from behind by another vehicle.
The Licking County Sheriff's Office is investigating a triple-shooting in Pataskala that left two men dead and a woman fighting for her life.
The shooting shutdown State Route 16 just east of Watkins Road. According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the scene around 4:45 p.m. and two men were found dead in the vehicle. A woman was found lying along the roadway and is currently undergoing surgery for her injuries.
One person is dead after a crash closed the westbound lanes of State Route 16.
The accident happened on Thursday around 8:30 PM, just west of State Route 146 in Hanover Township. The State Highway Patrol, Hanover Township EMS and the Licking County Sheriff's Office responded to the call.

State Highway Patrol Trooper Mike Epler says Joseph Brown from Canal Winchester was traveling West on State Route 16 when his front left tire blew out causing him to cross the median and both Eastbound lanes. The company truck he was driving came to rest off the side of the road.
