The rock wall construction on State Route 60 just south of Duncan Falls is now in the final stages.

Construction began on the wall in mid-July.  Crews worked to move the wall back about eight feet and also added mesh wire fencing. An earth mound is being built between the wall and road as well to protect the rock from weathering and the elements.

Bridge replacements will soon shut down two area roadways.

The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced that work will begin on Monday July 7th on the second bridge on State Route 666 located near Bateman Road.  The construction will close the section of State Route 666 for the duration of the project which is expected to be completed by October of this year.  Traffic will be detoured via State Route 60 to State Route 208 and then back on to State Route...

The Ohio Department of Transportation announced plans for the replacement of two bridges in Muskuingum County. Work is set to begin next Monday, March 31 on two bridges on State Route 666.

S.R. 666 will close for the duration of the project at the first bridge, located about three miles north of Zanesville at Bateman Road, and the second bridge, which is located about six miles north of Zanesville at Gilbert Road.

The Ohio Department of Transportation reports State Route 666 will close near Riverside Park between Buckeye Drive and Neil Avenue in Zanesville on Thursday, July 25 for one day for brush cutting operations.

ODOT’s Muskingum County crew will be partnering with American Electric Power to remove brush and overhanging trees that may be obstructing overhead power lines, as well as the roadway. This operation will close the road Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Two people were seriously injured following a motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon in Washington Township.

The State Highway Patrol said just before 3 p.m. a motorcycle carrying 35-year-old Scott Helms and his wife, 40-year-old Michelle Helms of Reynoldsburg, was traveling northbound on State Route 666, when it slammed into a car occupied by 30-year-old Gary Smith of Newark and 38-year old Chris Sheridan of Heath.

Construction work in the city of Zanesville is bound to cause more than a few headaches lasting into this fall.

Monday July 18 State Route 666 North will close for a week so water water lines can be tied in to the new water plant.

A semi truck stuck on State Route 666 or North River Road was causing a traffic headache Monday morning.

The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol said they had part of the road shut down for about three hours this morning.
Troopers said that the driver was trying to turn around and got stuck.

Now troopers are directing traffic on North River Road Bateman Road and Neil Avenue Police. A wrecker is now on scene trying to get the semi out.
