The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office says a teen was struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon.

It happened at 3:49 p.m. at 29210 State Route 83 when a northbound vehicle driven by 41-year-old Brett Barton of Millersburg struck 13-year-old Randall Shepherd as he was crossing the road.

Shepherd was transported to Akron Kids Hospital by Med-Flight. His condition is not known at this time.  Assisting on the scene were Three Rivers Fire, Coshocton County EMS and React.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night, scanner traffic indicated there was a structure fire in the 200 block of West Main Street in New Concord.  

Multiple fire departments responded, and ODOT and AEP were also requested to the scene. State Route 83 was shut down at the intersection of Main Street and at the exit ramp from Interstate 70.

The Ohio Department of Transportation says work is set to begin next Monday, March 31, on the replacement of a State Route 83 bridge in New Concord, just south of U.S. Route 22 in Muskingum County.

During construction, southbound traffic will be maintained at all times in a one, 11-foot width lane. Northbound traffic will be detoured via U.S. 22, to S.R. 723, to Interstate 70 westbound, back to S.R. 83, and reverse.

The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office investigates a two car accident.

Deputies said around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, dispatch received a 911 call about an accident at State Route 83 and County Road 24 intersection.

Deputies said Betty Fieldon, of Coshocton, was driving her pick-up and attempting to turn west on County Road 24 from 83 when she failed to yield the right of way to a vehicle driven by Donovan Scheetz, of Coshocton. Scheetz was traveling south on 83.

The Ohio Department of Transportation will have crews working in both Perry and Guernsey counties in the coming weeks.

State Route 83 will close this Tuesday, September 28th, near Claysville, for two weeks. Workers will focus on a slip repair. Drivers are asked to use State Route 313 to State Route 146, which will take them around the construction and back onto State Route 83.

The Ohio Department of Transportation announced Tuesday that State Route 83 in Guernsey County will be closing for a slip repair.

Officials say work will begin Tuesday, September 28 on State Route 83 at the 4.3 mile marker, 3 miles South of State Route 313.

ODOT says weather permitting S.R. 83 will re-open Tuesday October 12.

The suggested detour is State Route 313 to State Route 146 to State Route 83.
