Zane State College played host to some young scientists Saturday morning.

High School students spent the day at Ohio University of Zanesville where many got a huge reality check.

As students entered into "The Reality Store" they were given a job based on their current interests and were awarded the correlating salary. With this information they were then given real life financial situations like buying a home and paying for groceries, and they had to budget their income accordingly.

After receiving a bomb threat at their university on Thursday Muskingum students spoke out about their experiences.

At approximately 12:45 p.m. Muskingum University in New Concord received a phone call on their 1-800 number saying that there was a bomb on the campus. Although there was no bomb found, officials from the school and local emergency agencies immediately responded by making sure the campus was vacated before closing the school down for the day.

The West Muskingum School District is celebrating achievements in academic excellence.

Three former high school seniors, who have since graduated, were named AP Scholars. Delia Constantino and Elizabeth Sandlund received a score of 3.0 or better on three or more AP Exams taken last year. Yaquta Kaka was named an AP Scholar with Honors for receiving a score of 3.25 or better on four or more AP Exams.

Zanesville City Schools will start classes for the 2010/2011 academic year Tuesday.

Students will walk through the doors of two new elementary buildings and a new high school. The administration and staff have been hard at work making sure everything is ready for the students.

Some students from 16 Ohio high schools are heading to Lake Erie this Monday and Tuesday for the 2010 Ohio Environthon. Two of those high schools happen to have a local connection...Granville and New Lexington High Schools.

The Ohio Environthon will is a competition that tests how much students know about land usage, forestry, wildlife, water sources, and other environmental issues.

Whoever wins will advance to the 2010 Canon Environthon in August at California State University....

Most students in the 8th grade class at Maysville Middle School have a better idea of what they want to do for the rest of their lives.

It was Career Day, and students got to experience a wide range of fields. The most popular occupation seemed to be a veterinarian.

The Zanesville Rotary Club is honoring six local high school seniors with a Phoenix Award.

These awards will provide the students with a one thousand dollar scholarship.

About 25 students who take part in the Grover Cleveland Gear-Up Program are walking to raise money.
