Young athletes showcased their track and field skills at Zanesville High School Thursday.

Team GodSpeed's 6th annual Track and Field Camp kicked off Thursday afternoon and brought in young athletes from all over the area to get some expert training. Team Godspeed Board Member, Patrick Pugh, said aside from the "Y" City Mile, the camp is one of the biggest events the ministry hosts all year.

The 11th annual Y-City Mile took place in Downtown Zanesville Saturday.

Team Godspeed, an athletes ministry organization hosted the event. The race was a mile long, and featured events for runners, walkers and dashes for mascots and kids. Vice President of team Godspeed, Patrick Pugh says 425 runners all laced up their shoes for the same great cause.

Young track and field athletes are getting some expert training this week.

After two long days at track camp participants were ready to show off their skills.

Saturday was the Godspeed Track Meet held at Zanesville High School.Some runners raced alone, some raced in teams, and the group consisted of preschoolers to high school students. The main goal of the camp was to help kids build confidence. Jacqueline Williams, who is a volunteer says the track meet is a unique opportunity.

A two day camp is teaching children of all ages the fundamentals of track and field.

This is the fourth year that Team Godspeed has hosted their annual track and field camp. Participants learn how to perform workouts, improve technique and attempt different field activities including long jump and shot put. Different coaches from around the area came to Zanesville High School to work with the kids.

A fun fitness event gives back to the community.

Team Godspeed hosted the "Y City Smile Mile" Saturday. The mile run down Main Street brings together runners of all ages in a friendly competition.

This weekend some avid runners laced up their running shoes and took to the streets of downtown Zanesville.

Team Godspeed, an organization aimed at promoting health and fitness, held their annual Y-City Mile fundraiser which raises money for organizations across the area like churches, dance or football teams and many others. Time to lace up your sneakers for the Pugh's Diamond Dash.

The 5k, walk/run will be Saturday morning at 8 a.m. at Pugh's Diamond Jewelers. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the cost is$20 for runners and $15 for walkers. All the money will be given to benefit Team GodSpeed.
