It's been a busy Thanksgiving for law enforcement and medical responders in Zanesville and surrounding areas.

Trooper Todd Henry of the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol said the biggest problem is the extra traffic on Interstate 70. He said troopers are assisting drivers of disabled vehicles by taking them to gas stations for help.

The Zanesville Fire Fighters were also on the job Thanksgiving Day.

Firefighter Jeff Ball said each Thanksgiving the crew pitches in to cook-up the holiday feast.

A number of volunteers took time away from their own Thanksgiving meal to serve those less fortunate.

The Salvation Army in Muskingum County gave thanks by giving.

Moved by the community's generosity, Major Ralph Campbell said more than 100 turkeys were donated for Wednesday's Thanksgiving dinner and was served by local volunteers.

The Salvation Army in Muskingum County would like to thank the community for their donated turkeys, many of which are already roasting in preparation for Wednesday's meal.

Thanks to a hefty donation, those without a meal on Thanksgiving can enjoy turkey and all the fixings at Christ's Table in Zanesville.
