The chilly weather didn't keep golfers from coming out to Vista View Golf Course to support a great organization Friday.

Area youth are taking a stroll through Safety Town.

The Carr Center is hosting its first summer session this week at Coburn United Methodist Church. Students at Safety Town will get to learn about finger printing, stranger danger, as well as water, fire, and traffic safety.

The Carr Center has three major fundraisers throughout the year. The best known one is the annual cake auction, but they also have a golf outing every fall and they're expecting to raise about $6,000 from Friday's event that will go towards some new programs.

After months of searching for donations, the Alfred S. Carr center finally receives enough money to purchase a new bus.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles has helped the center purchase their bus with a donation of $25,000 dollars. This isn't the first time the Eagles have helped out a local organization but the help the Carr Center provides for the community was the main reason behind their large donation.

Recent renovations to the Carr Center prompted the facility to host an open house to show off their new look.

The Carr Center is in immediate need of transportation for their Adult Day Care Center.

The center provides social, therapeutic and recreational activities for adults with or without disabilities, in a well supervised environment. In the past the Carr Center has utilized Z-Bus for transportation to the Adult Day Care Center, but starting in January 2013 that option will no longer be affordable.

A husband and wife- both First Sergeants in the Ohio Army National Guard- were honored Friday in Zanesville.

Richard and Cindy Day of Roseville met nearly 25 years ago while serving in the Military. Richard recently returned home from Iraq and was recognized Friday at The Carr Center.
