A local organization is targeting shoppers for its next fundraiser...

The United Way has teamed up with Silpada Jewelry for the "Sterling Silver Party" taking place on May 3rd. Resource Development Director Lori Mills said it's the perfect event for this time of year.

The arrival of the shale oil and gas industry brings up questions as to how our area will be impacted...

To answer those questions, the United Way is hosting "Shale Oil and Gas 101 May 9th at the John McIntire Library Auditorium. Community Impact Coordinator Amy Davis said the oil fracking is already affecting areas locally.

The John McIntire Library hosted presentations from over a dozen community organizations today.

The agencies of the United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan counties spoke to investors and area residents on how their agencies will impact the community during the next fiscal year.

Executive Director of the United May Meg Deedrick said last year the United Way raised just under $1,000,000 with some of that money going towards the Agency's programs.

If you are planning on making a New Years resolution, the United Way recommends that you take a look at your finances.

The United Way's Financial Stability Partnership will be holding a six week course called, "Planning Your Financial Future."
The course features a local financial planner, and will discuss topics retirement options, mortgages and debt, and also tax tips.

You don't need to know all the tax laws or even be great at math. You do need to be willing to give up a few hours a week.

The United Way of Perry, Muskingum and Morgan Counties is looking for volunteers to prepare taxes as part of their free income tax preparation. Volunteers will help families to e-file both federal and state income taxes free of charge. This year they're looking for around 25 people to help out.

The United Way of Muskingum Perry and Morgan counties needs your help.

The organization has received dozens of calls this week through their 211 Call Center for those in need of fans and air conditioners
