ZANESVILLE, Ohio- For the past 4 years, McHugh Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram donated $50 for every vehicle sold in the month of July for the “Tools For School” Campaign.

In the spirit of giving, one local business is teaming up with a nationally known NBA star to bring Christmas to families in need.

An NBA Star and Zanesville native is giving back to the community in a big way.

Kevin Martin of the Minnesota Timberwolves held his annual wrapping party Tuesday evening. 10 area families in need are chosen and gifts are then bought and wrapped for the members of those families by area students and friends and family of Martin. The McHugh Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram Dealership is celebrating 50 years in Zanesville.

The family-owned and operated business was built from the ground up by Jim McHugh in 1963. McHugh originally opened up as a Volkswagen dealership in downtown Zanesville, but made the switch to selling American cars in the 1980's, and moved across town to Maple Avenue. After a half-century in business, McHugh says he's proud to still be a family-run company.

An assembly line of workers busily filled backpacks for this year's Eastside Community Ministry's "Tools For School" Campaign.

Stacks of folders, pencils and paper carefully made their way into over 800 backpacks. These packs will be given away during an even Thursday. Eastside estimates that each backpack is worth $35.

"We struggle to do this every year, but we get a lot of donations money wise and school supplies, but it's still a struggle. There's always more...
