An old drive through on Wayne Avenue is being officially condemned by the city of Zanesville. 

Cracking on the property has pulled the East Side Chill Thru off its foundation. Tim Smith is the chief building official for the city. He said he was alerted to the crack this morning and promptly inspected the property. Along with the city engineer, he determined that it is no longer safe for people to be on the property.

A tree that fell onto a house has left at least 4 people displaced Wednesday evening.

The incident happenend around 3:00PM at 149 Galliger Street. We spoke to Rex McManes who has been living at the home for a little over a year now. He was inside when the tree fell, and described to us what it was like.

"I was in and out of a movie I was watching, I turned around and the whole house sister--our rooms are on the backside and it fell right down the middle. Alright...

A problem with a building in Downtown Zanesville forced the temporary closing of a sidewalk on Main Street Friday morning.

Some bricks fell from the right corner of the Olde Towne Antique Mall at 527 Main Street. The Zanesville Fire Department responded to the scene along with Code Enforcement Officer Tim Smith. Zanesville Public Safety Director Fred Buck says the building is structurally sound. Jeff Snyder, owner of the antique shop believes the falling bricks are a safety concern...

Zanesville City Council tabled a controversial ordinance for the city Monday evening.

The ordinance would allow Zanesville Code Enforcement Officer Tim Smith to contract Licking County's Building Department to handle some of Zanesville's building inspection services. Currently, the county handles the services, but Mayor Zwelling says Smith was under the impression the county office might be closing.
