Over 800 students are now ready for the school year to begin.
Eastside Community Ministry handed out their backpacks put together through their "Tools for School" program.
"I think it's incredible. Obviously the number requested every year grows. It's a program that's needed in our community and I think that it is great that we're able to use so many partners and use so many volunteers and fill that need," said Youth Program Director Joey Osborn.
Community members were outside of Walmart on Maple Avenue on Saturday supporting a cause for the kids.

East Side Community Ministry created a new signature event in hopes of bringing in funding and support.
The first-ever Riverboat Night will take place this Friday. Participants will be given play "money" to use throughout the evening. Winnings will be given in the form of tickets and can be used to enter for grand prize drawings. Development Director Joey Osborn is excited to hand out the grand prizes, one of which is a hand-made Ohio State Quilt and tickets to a game.
