A Zanesville family is homeless after a Sunday afternoon fire.

The Washington Township Fire Department was dispatched to John Burwell's home at 4545 Church Hill Road. Firefighters say they could see smoke from their firehouse, several miles away. When they arrived at the scene, Captain Adam Siddle says the structure was completely engulfed.

A Perry County family is homeless after an early morning fire Saturday.

It occurred at 121 Ohio 555, just outside Portersville.

The Crooksville Fire Department says the home is a total loss.

The family was not home at the time. They were out of town.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The State Fire Marshall's Office has been called in to evaluate the incident.

A fire destroys a Zanesville family's home this morning.

It happened around 10:15 a.m. at 163 Pine Street.

It may have been a cloudy start to the morning, but you could seem smoke billowing from the Pine Street home from a few miles away.

A Licking County family is homeless after a morning fire.

It happened just before 8 a.m. at 402 Doris Road.

The West Licking Joint Fire District says when it arrived at the scene, it found a large volume of smoke coming from the home.

No one was home at the time of the fire, but it is considered a total loss.

A Thornville family is homeless after a fire consumed their home.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. this afternoon.

WHIZ's Emily Baird has more.

"Upon arrival, we had the second and first floor fully involved, " saus Thornville Township Assistant Fire Chief, Rob Sands.

A family is left homeless on this cold winter night after a fire destroyed their home.

It happened around 4 p.m. at 335 Jordan Avenue in Zanesville.

"When we arrived, we did find a fire coming from the front room through one window. It was starting to roll out of the window onto the front porch. We made entry, knocked the fire down fairly quickly, and conducted a primary search, " says Zanesville Fire Department Captain Kevin Thomas.

The Cambridge Fire Department says it's unsure of the cause of an early morning house fire but it's ruling it suspicious.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. on Clark Street.

Assistant Fire Chief, Rick Foraker, says when crews arrived on the scene, the back porch and a portion of the roof were engulfed in flames. It took crews about three hours to get the fire under control because the roof began to cave in.

A garage in Granville is a total loss after a fire.

It happened just before noon at 324 East Main Street.

Granville Fire Department Lieutenant Casey Curtis says when crews arrived, the structure was fully engulfed but he says crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to two adjacent buildings.

The building is deemed a total loss, but Curtis says the renter of the home was able to salvage two cars before the fire escalated.
