Once again the Zanesville Fire Department is acting as a drop off location for the annual Toys for Tots drive.

The fire department has been involved with it for around 10 years now, and firefighter Gale Law said in the past they have had a drop off drive through and even wrapped toys. This year there will be drop off locations at the department's three stations. The community gathered to support the less fortunate in our community Saturday evening.

The 30th annual Toys for Tots auction was held at St. Rose church Saturday evening. Those who attended had the chance to bid on a wide variety of items and enjoy a meal together. Polly Pletcher, Secretary of the club told us a little bit more about what the money funds.

This Christmas, an organization called Toys for Tots is collecting new Christmas presents to give to local children. Toys for Tots Coordinator Opal Lambert says she has received requests from area churches, schools and other organizations for over 4,000 presents, which is double the amount needed last year. Two Zanesville motorcycle clubs are coming together for the kids.

Twisted Steel and The Gamblers are collecting donations for Toys for Tots.  President of Twisted Steel James McGill said so far they've raised about $1,700 to buy 277 toys for children in Muskingum County.

It seem the holiday season is already in the air and for many the season wouldn't be complete without the image of Marines collecting toys for the children in need.

Toys for Tots is getting ready for a fundraiser that helps children smile during the holiday season.

Muskingum County Coordinator John Norman said the organization is holding an auction to raise money to buy toys.  Ohio State memorabilia, artwork from local artists and golf green fees will be among the items up for bid.  Toys will be collected at the auction, and Norman said the donations make an enormous impact on the community.

A community race commemorated a fallen Marine from our area nearly 7 years ago who fought in Iraq.

Christmas is quickly approaching and one organization wants to make sure every child gets a toy.

Volunteers with Toys For Tots auctioned off more than 100 items at the VFW on Putnam Avenue Sunday afternoon. A crowd of around 125 people enjoyed lunch and bidding on the items. Organizers say volunteers have put this event on for 10 years and every year they hope raise more.

Christmas spirit is alive and well in New Lexington.

About 300 people packed into the St. Rose Parish Community Center to take part in the Perry County Community Club's "25th Annual Toys for Tots Auction," and there were about 280 items for people to bid on.
