Tri-Valley lineman Hunter Polk is jumping from one winning program to the next.

The four-time MVL champ and three-year letterman for the 'Dawgs signed with FCS power Duquesne Wednesday in Dresden.

"I'll have every opportunity to get four years of playing time," Polk said. "I'm really proud and 100 percent bought in."

Five local athletes have been chosen to play in the 2016 Ohio High School Football Coaches Association North-South Classic, and two of the players will be lining up for a familiar coach.

Zanesville offensive tackle Tavian Butts and linebacker Leo Crosby are set to suit up for Blue Devil coach Chad Grandstaff in the Division I-III game. Grandstaff is the head coach of the South team, which also features Tri-Valley defensive lineman Hunter Polk.

The Tri-Valley Dawgs are in the driver's seat in Division 3, Region 9, having snatched up the top seed thanks to a perfect regular season. There's no question this team has its sights set on a deep run in the state tournament, and that run begins at home against New Philadelphia tonight

Although every MVL team has high expectations coming into the season, no team seems to have as much reason to as the Tri-Valley Scotties. The Scotties reached the Regional Final last season and return many key contributors, along with a proven head coach in Justin Buttermoore. All signs point to Tri-Valley being the MVL's top dawgs once again in 2012.
