3.8 million Ohioans will join the 98.6 million Americans traveling over the year-end holiday season, which starts a week from today and stretches into early January. 

Triple A said this is an increase of five percent in Ohio and four percent nationally and marks the highest travel volume for this holiday period on record.

Triple A reports 34.8 million Americans, including 1.3 million Ohioans will travel at least 50 miles from home this Memorial Day Weekend.

This is a 1.4 percent decrease from last Memorial Day. The decrease is attributed to a sluggish economic recovery and the impact of sequestration.

Triple A also said that the pent up demand for travel brought on by the recession has been satisfied.

More than 100,000 crashes every year involve drivers who are texting.

Triple A and AT&T spoke to students at Ohio University Zanesville about the dangers of texting. The Triple A Foundation for Traffic Safety found that 61 percent of drivers 16-24 years-old admitted to texting while driving, compared to 35 percent of the general driving population.

Florida is one of the top destinations for spring break goers according to Triple A.

A spokesperson for the company said Ohioans are flocking to the Sunshine State and taking advantage of Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Tampa. But, there's one location that is also getting a lot of spring break travelers.

The Fourth of July may still be weeks away, but AAA Auto Club is already predicting a record amount of cars on the roads in Ohio.

From July 3rd to July 8th, 1.75 million Ohioans are expected to travel 50 miles or more, up 4.4% for the state in comparison to last year.
