A double amputee Marine veteran is rolling through southeastern Ohio on a mission.

Dave Barr lost both of his legs in a land mine explosion.  He rides his motorcycle all over the world to encourage others to overcome their obstacles.  Barr said his procession into Malta on Thursday was an emotional experience.

A special ceremony was held Monday night to honor a fallen soldier, and his brother.

Out of seven brothers, Glenn Jones was the youngest to serve in World War II. On June 6, 1945 he was killed in Okinawa, and a flag was given to his family. That flag has remained in a cedar chest for more than 60 years and was never properly folded. Now the family wants the oldest living brother, Dale Jones, to have it along with Glenn's Purple Heart.

After 80 years, one local veterans club is still going strong.

This week marks the 80th anniversary of the Disabled American Veterans group on Moxahala Avenue. The chapter began with only 20 members and has grown over the years to more than 300 members.
