Shop With a Cop was held for the 9th year now at the North Maple Walmart Monday.

Morgan, Perry, and Muskingum County Officers are paired up with a child in need and then help them to shop for clothing and toys for the holiday season. Walmart is teaming up with The Salvation Army to make sure local children have a Merry Christmas.

Stop by any Walmart location to donate a toy for the "Fill The Truck" event. The nation-wide event brings all toy donations to The Salvation Army in your community. Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in a stolen credit card being used to purchase items at Walmart in Newark.

The Newark Division of Police reports around 10:30 am on March 19, a purse was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Wilwood Ave. A female suspect then used a stolen credit card from the purse to buy items at Walmart. A store security camera took pictures of the suspect.

It's not everyday you get to shop with a cop, but on Monday, that's exactly what 40 area students from Muskingum, Morgan and Coshocton counties did.

Every year the Fraternal Order of Police Associates Lodge gives kids and teens a Christmas they may not otherwise get. They give each student over $100 to spend, team them up with law enforcement officers and send them shopping at Walmart to get whatever they want.

Zanesville Police Capt. Tony Coury says drivers going south on Maple Ave. will no longer be able to turn left at Bell St. to turn into Walmart. Instead, drivers must turn into the parking lot by turning left at Balls Ln.

Team 'Sparks of Hope' held a bake sale Saturday morning to raise money for Relay for Life.

The bake sale was at the Walmart on Maple Ave. both Friday and Saturday. Shoppers bought cupcakes, cookies, hot dogs, nachos, cotton candy, and chicken sandwiches, with all of the proceeds going towards Relay for Life and The American Cancer Society.

The Associates Lodge of Fraternal Order of Police had one of their favorite charitable events this evening.

The annual 'Shop with a Cop' was held at the North Zanesville Walmart for 50 local children in need for warm clothing and Christmas presents. The event is a good opportunity for officers to build positive relationships with children who may have only seen cops during a negative or stressful time.

An area non-profit organization is showing off its renovations thanks to a $35,000 grant.

The Walmart Foundation's State Giving Program presented the Zanesville Day Nursery Association with the big check.  Nursery Director Angie Kaiser said the funds have already been put to good use.
