A Blue Rock man says he’s guilty of a gas station robbery. 22-year-old Cody West appeared in Common Pleas Court accused of the robbery of the Starfire Gas Station on Pershing Road. West pled guilty in front of Judge Fleegle today. The robbery occurred on August 18th just before 6:00 am. A convicted child murderer is appearing before the parole board Thursday. Now his victim's family is anxiously waiting to learn his fate.

Shirley West says the death of her granddaughter, Sara, is always on her mind. Thursday Sara's killer, Billy Joe Shafer, will go up for his first parole hearing since Sara's murder on Valentine's Day in 1993.

The mother of a murdered child is using the Internet to keep her daughter's killer behind bars.

Sara West was brutality sexually assaulted, tortured and murdered by Billy Shafer in 1993. Now Tracy Hickman, Sara's mother, is using the website BlockParole.com to help send a message to the parole board. Billy is set to go up for parole in early February. With the first parole hearing quickly approaching for a convicted murderer, the victim's family is rallying support from the community to keep him behind bars. WHIZ's Katie Jeffries has the story.

A Muskingum County teenager convicted of murder nearly two decades ago will soon be up for parole, but the victim's grandmother is making it her duty to keep him behind bars.

On Feburary 14th, 1993, Sara West, 5, was brutally raped, tortured and murdered by her babysitter Billy Joe Shafer, 16. He was found guilty of aggravated murder.
