Maysville and West Muskingum had their game moved from under the Friday night lights to Saturday. The Tornadoes kept the game close for a period of time before the Panthers ultimately won, 27-7. Here's other high school scores from Saturday:
Maysville handed John Glenn its first MVL loss in volleyball by winning in straight sets, 25-18, 25-20, 26-24. Aubrie Clarke was perfect on her serving and added 19 assists. Kori Sidwell pitched 12 digs, 9 kills and 1 ace. Mylie Swauger registered seven kills and seven digs.
In girls soccer, West Muskingum beat Philo, 1-0, thanks to a lone goal from Ashley Guthridge in the 36th minute. Tornado keeper Chelcey Tusing turned in the shutout.
Members representing West Muskingum Schools met with the Muskingum County Commissioners Monday to discuss hooking the school's sewage into the county's sewer line.
The commissioners had made an offer to the school allowing them to tap into the county's sewer line for $350,000. The board approved a resolution at their last meeting to counter that offer with one of $300,000 saying the school simply doesn't have the money.
