Friday we previewed the Y-City Gun Fest for you, and Saturday gun enthusiasts took over the Muskingum County Fairgrounds.

The Gun Fest ran from noon to 8:00 p.m., and around 3,000 of people showed up to eat, socialize and hope their name was picked. A different gun was raffled off every five minutes all day and a special cash prize was drawn every half hour.

Food, fun and fellowship is what the Y-City Gun Fest is aiming for.

Gates open at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds at noon Saturday with raffles starting at 2:00 p.m. There will be drawings for guns every five minutes and a drawing for $500 every half hour. This past weekend was the Y-City Gun Fest at the fairgrounds, which is a gun raffle featuring fun, entertainment, a casino and plenty of food.

In fact, this year there was a little too much food at the fest, and the organizers decided to donate the extra food to Christ's Table.

Large crowds came out to the 2013 Y-City Gun Fest held at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds on Saturday.

This is the 4th year for the annual festival. The Rotary Club of Zanesville has organized the event in the past, but this time the Knight's Foundation took charge in planning the event. Knight's President, Joe Nash says he is pleased with the turnout since it was his very first time coordinating the show.

Despite the chilly weather Saturday, it didn't stop hundreds from coming out for the 2011 Y-City Gun Fest.

In its second year, put on by the Zanesville Rotary Club, the event gave away over 250,000 dollars in prizes including cash, a new car, Harley Davidson Motorcycles and of course guns. New for this year was a big attraction, a cash grab game.

Muskingum County is finally getting an event many local residents have been hoping for.

The first-ever Y-City Gun Fest will take place this Saturday from 1 p.m.-9 p.m.

"They've been successful in other markets near us, and we feel there's a lot of interest in hunting and outdoor activities in Muskingum County. We just thought it was natural to have it here at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds," says Zanesville Rotary Club President Rick Sabine.
