ZAAP is having an opening for the public this Friday, May 15.

The theme for this Friday's show is 'Rerun, Review and Repeat' and it is a celebration of older works of ZAAP artists. Vice President of ZAAP Erin France, told us there will be a variety of art to enjoy.

"There's watercolor here, there's mixed media here. There's some fiber art, some photography. We have a gentleman who makes things out of bottlecaps and so there's just a really interesting variety of art here....

If you are a fan of local art, the Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project is holding their annual fundraiser.

The special event has been going on for 9 years now, and all of the dollars go to supporting Z.A.A.P.. We spoke to Gary Graham, a member of the Arts Project, who told us more about what it takes to raise the funds.

Every month, ZAAP in Downtown Zanesville features an artist of the month.

This month, WHIZ's very own radio sales employee Erin France's art is on display. France says she has been involved with ZAAP for 2 years now, and has loved art since she was a child. As far as inspiration, she is creates things through the objects around her.

The First Friday Art Walk in Downtown Zanesville is taking place Friday. This month, the Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project (ZAAP) is highlighting artist Jennifer Sands.

Sands graduated from the Columbus College of Art and Design, and typically works with wool, fabric and resin. Some examples of these resin pieces will be on display at ZAAP. Sands says that the inspiration of her work that is currently on display came from changes in her life.

As Zanesville gets set for the First Friday Art Walk Friday evening, the Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project wants you to meet their Artist of the Month.

The Annual Zaap Gallery Art Auction is just one day away and organizers are saying it's an event you don't want to miss.

More than 80 pieces of local and original donated artwork will be displayed Friday night at the Zaap Gallery. The pieces all range in size and design.

Artists from the Zanesville Appalachian Art Project are gearing up for their Annual Art Auction.

Every year the organization has the event to raise money for upkeep at the gallery. This year with more than 60 donated pieces, ZAAP leaders say there is something for everyone.

"We have originals, we have fine art ,we have whimsical art, we have prints, books. We have some art supplies that are all going up for auction, " said ZAAP Director, John Taylor-Lehman.

The Zanesville Appalachian Art Project has chosen its Artist of the Month for March.

The work of Rosemary Honnold will be on display for guests at the ZAAP gallery. This is the first time her art will be open to the public. Honnold creates a variety of different types of pieces and is excited to share them with others.

The Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project has chosen their featured artist of the month for January.

Kathy Jenkins is a member of ZAAP and this months featured artist. She says she spent almost forty years as a school teacher in the Franklin Local and Zanesville City School districts. Once she retired eight years ago she knew that art would be her full time hobby.

Zanesville's art community is having an art walk Friday night.

The art walk will start at 5 o'clock Friday evening at the Z.A.A.P. Art Gallery located on Main Street in downtown Zanesville. Local artist and Z.A.A.P. member, Gary Graham, says people can expect to meet the artists and see a variety of winter-themed artwork.
