It's time to announce the Z.A.A.P. Gallery's featured artist of the month for March.

Irene Baron is a geologist, meteorologist and astronomer. Her love of rocks and minerals is portrayed in her artwork which is a mixture of multimedia watercolor and colored pencil. Her unique take on the rocks and gems that she paints is what separates her art from others.

There will be a double feature during this First Friday Art Walk at the ZAAP Gallery.

The popular downtown location will showcase artists Nancy Holland and Gina Bowman Friday night. Holland started painting at seven years old while Bowman didn't begin until three months ago. Although their work is different, they hope their art will create similar feelings within the audience.

The Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project has introduced this month's First Friday featured artist.

 Kiyoe Howald's artistic skills date back to middle school in Japan but it wasn't until she retired that she looked for opportunities to study art. Shortly after taking a watercolor class, she discovered Z.A.A.P. but she is always looking for more workshops and classes to further her talents.

This month's First Friday featured artist is no stranger to the art world.

Shirley Perrine has been painting for nearly fifty years. This is her second time as the Z.A.A.P. Gallery's featured artist and she is enjoying every minute of it. Her artwork consists of watercolors and some acrylic paintings, mostly florals but an occasional landscape. Deciding what to put on display wasn't especially hard for Perrine, as long as she gets to take them home at the end of the day.

The Zanesville Appalachian arts project is happy to announce their featured artist of the month.

Debbie Lutz-Beckert just started painting seriously four years ago but after a friend pushed her to join Z.A.A.P. it wasn't long before her work was being featured in the downtown gallery. Lutz-Beckert says the encouragement she gets from the other Z.A.A.P. artists is incredible but she still feels anxious about her feature debut this first Friday.
