The Annual Zaap Gallery Art Auction is just one day away and organizers are saying it's an event you don't want to miss.
More than 80 pieces of local and original donated artwork will be displayed Friday night at the Zaap Gallery. The pieces all range in size and design.

The Zanesville Appalachian Art Project has chosen its Artist of the Month for March.
The work of Rosemary Honnold will be on display for guests at the ZAAP gallery. This is the first time her art will be open to the public. Honnold creates a variety of different types of pieces and is excited to share them with others.

Kathy Jenkins is a member of ZAAP and this months featured artist. She says she spent almost forty years as a school teacher in the Franklin Local and Zanesville City School districts. Once she retired eight years ago she knew that art would be her full time hobby.

Zanesville's art community is having an art walk Friday night.
The art walk will start at 5 o'clock Friday evening at the Z.A.A.P. Art Gallery located on Main Street in downtown Zanesville. Local artist and Z.A.A.P. member, Gary Graham, says people can expect to meet the artists and see a variety of winter-themed artwork.

Cathy white is a member of ZAAP and has lived in Zanesville for the past seven years. She says that the constantly growing art community is what keeps her in town . White creates various types of artwork, but focused on photography for her current display.

Gary Graham says he has been an artist all of his life and travels all along the east coast to capture seascapes with acrylic on canvas.
"I do travel up and down the east coast. I do go from Massachusetts down to the Carolina's and back. So a lot of these paintings on the wall are from North, South Carolina, Hilton Head Island, Bluffton. Anyone that travels those areas will probably find some of these areas familiar to them," said Graham.
Z.A.A.P. is featuring Carron Baxter in the front window at their 625 Main Street location. Baxter has six acrylics on display that are all for sale. She has also been featured at the Zanesville Museum of Art , The Ohio State Fair, and at Muskingum University for her artwork. Z.A.A.P. is also having a silent auction starting tomorrow.

It's time to announce the Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project's featured artist of the month.
Erin France specializes in mixed media art. She takes everyday objects and turns them into unique masterpieces.
"I love dinosaurs, and you'll see that I do a lot of dinosaur art," said France. "When I was a kid, I really never played with dolls. I played with dinosaurs, so you'll see that theme running through my art."
