As the middle of August nears, many kids are preparing to go back to school, but for freshmen at Zane State College, the first day has already arrived. 

Freshmen began a week long First Year Experience orientation Monday. The college  has this each year to get the students ready for the first day of classes. Freshmen business management major, Hannah Coon and, alternative energy major, Justin Snider said it's doesn't seem real yet.

Dr. Chad Brown said building pathways to help college become more affordable is one of his main focuses as Zane State College's new president.

Female golfers from around the area came out to the Zanesville Country Club Monday to celebrate women's education.

The fifth annual YMCA S.T.E.A.M. Camp was held at Zane State College's Science Building this week.

 Zane State College and Muskingum University are teaming up to give local college students a path to a Bachelor's Degree.

The college and university signed a memorandum of agreement June 4 at the Galleria of the Advanced Science and Technology Center on Zane State's campus. The agreement grants students transferring from Zane State to Muskingum University a $2,500 scholarship. Today is the start of something wonderful and new for the now alumni of Zane State College.
