An aroma of ethnic foods filled the campus center at Ohio University Zanesville/Zane State College today.

The culinary arts students from Zane State held their 26th annual Ethnic Food Fair to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Multicultural outreach coordinator Keisha Norris, says the students have worked very hard to make this event both diverse and delicious.

The kitchens at Zane State College are filled with a medley of smells, seeping from the Soul, Italian, Polish and Haitian cuisine being prepared for Friday's 26th Annual Ethnic Food Fair.

Second year culinary arts students from Zane State are working under the supervision of Chef Marco Adornetto, to create four entrees, two side dishes and two desserts for the fair. Totaling five 5,060 portions of food.

Zane State College and Ohio University-Zanesville are proud to become smoke free campuses.

Effective since January first of this year, both Zane State College and Ohio University-Zanesville are now smoke free campuses. This morning we spoke with the director of public safety at OUZ, Bethany Hayes, about the reasoning behind this movement.

Zane State College held a flash registration event for spring semester Friday.

The event was held at College Hall on the Zanesville campus and the EPIC Center on the Cambridge Campus. We spoke to Paul Brown, the President of Zane State College, who says the event was open to anyone.

Zane State College has a new president.

Chairman, John Knight, announced that the board of trustees has unanimously chosen Dr. Chad brown, current provost and executive vice president of Zane State as the next president of the college. Dr. Brown has been working closely with current president, Dr. Paul Brown, for several years and is anxious to begin his presidential duties.

Total Energy Solutions came to Zane State College this afternoon to learn more about the alternative energy technology and programs on campus.

Total Energy Solutions is working with an organization that designs work in Yellow Springs, Ohio for community solutions and energy saving and development purposes. Consultant, Paul LaPrise, said there are many different ways to be energy efficient.

People of all ages were seen racing in their Halloween costumes at Zane State College this afternoon.

The physical therapy assistant club at Zane State hosted its first annual Halloween costume 5k run/walk today. A donation of $10 for adults and $5 for kids got you registered for the race. President of the physical therapist assistant club, Amanda Hite explains that all the proceeds went to support Miracles in Motion.

Theresa Flores was a victim of human trafficking from the age of 15 to 17. Tuesday evening she spoke at Zane State College about her experience.

Along with her personal story, Flores focused on what exactly human trafficking is, the red flags of trafficking, and solutions for the problem. Flores tells us that she is working to spread awareness about this issue.

There is a new maroon flag at Zane State College Monday.

At a dedication this morning Zane State received an official Muskingum County flag. The Advanced Science and Technology Center sits on the same site that the county home once did. Members of the county home helped to create the design for the flag. The college's President, Dr. Paul Brown is happy to have the flag back on such an historic site for the county.

For the past 11 years Dr. Paul Brown has been the President of Zane State College, but in just nine short months he will be retiring.

Dr. Brown says that part of the mission of Zane State is to develop the region. Through his long involvement with the school he has become involved in the development of a project that would reinvest resources into the redevelopment of our region, which he sited as his reasoning behind the announcement of his retirement.
