White smoke filled the air in Zane State's parking lot Tuesday, not because of a fire, but because of those learning to safely put one out.

A driver running from authorities flipped his car earlier Tuesday evening in front of Zane State College.
The incident happened around 6:08 p.m. as an officer from the Zanesville Police Deparmtent attempted to pull over a driver with expired plates. Police said they had been watching the vehicle and attempted to pull it over as it left a residence. The driver did not comply with officers and began to flee out of town toward Dillon State Park on State Route 146.
