To protect against cyber threats, Zane State College is offering a new program.

The two year online Information Assurance and Securities Strategies degree aims to prepare students for cyber defense positions. Professor Barb Miller discussed the program with the Noon Rotary Club of Zanesville Tuesday.

White smoke filled the air in Zane State's parking lot Tuesday, not because of a fire, but because of those learning to safely put one out.

This event was part of Safety week at the college. The purpose of the event was to teach people the proper way to use an extinguisher if they come into contact with a fire. Environmental Technologies Instructor at Zane State, Elizabeth Kline told us the most people never think about using one.

Each year during safety days at Ohio University Zanesville, speakers talk to students and community members about staying safe.

A driver running from authorities flipped his car earlier Tuesday evening in front of Zane State College.

The incident happened around 6:08 p.m. as an officer from the Zanesville Police Deparmtent attempted to pull over a driver with expired plates. Police said they had been watching the vehicle and attempted to pull it over as it left a residence. The driver did not comply with officers and began to flee out of town toward Dillon State Park on State Route 146.

The Muskingum County Community Foundation held their annual Groundhog Day Celebration Friday.

The kitchens at Zane State College are filled with a medley of smells, seeping from the Soul, Italian, Polish and Haitian cuisine being prepared for Friday's 26th Annual Ethnic Food Fair.
