A new push is being made for Community Colleges to make their class schedules more convenient for students who also work and have families.

Ohio's Higher Education Chancellor Jim Petro wants the states public, two-year schools to explore the idea of block scheduling- where classes would be offered back-to-back in clusters.

Students from Zane State's Culinary program prepared and presented some good food from around the world Friday.

The 20th annual Ethnic Food Fair was held at the campus center in Zanesville.
The event included Italian, French, Soul and Caribbean cuisines prepared under the direction of chef, Marco Adornetto.

The number of jobs predicted for oil and natural gas drilling in Ohio could be far fewer than the industry had forecasted.

A study released Thursday by professor Mark Patridge of the Ohio State University estimates 20,000 jobs could be generated, this is far less than a study backed by the oil and gas industry, claiming 200,000 new jobs.

Known as "The Dirty Dozen," Zane State College graduated its first group of oil and gas field employees through a partnership with Retrain America.

The group of classmates completed a two-week, 80-hour Shale Exploration Certification course through Zane State College in Cambridge. The struggle of balancing work and school will be a little bit easier for one local student with the help of a scholarship.

The Bar G Oil and Gas Scholarship was created two years ago by the Glass family to encourage students of Mid-East Technology Center to pursue opportunities at Zane State College. Donor Christina Glass said the idea originated from her father, who also attended Mid-East before going on to pursue a higher education at Zane State, known then as MATC.

One of the largest solar energy tours takes place right here in Ohio.

Fifty-one counties were represented in this year's Green Energy Ohio Solar Tour. According to the Ohio Energy Resource Division, the majority of sites on this tour have retained more than 1,000 jobs, in addition to creating more than 700 jobs.
