Area college students are hoping to give stray cats and dogs a place to call home.

The Zane State Business Club held a Pet Adoption Fair on Saturday. The public was invited to enjoy a fun walk with their dogs and help raise money for the Animal Shelter Society in Zanesville.

Ohio's leaders are working to make the state a front-runner in clean energy programs that would make Ohio an attractive place to live and work.

As the two-year college aims to foster growth among students, Zane State itself has noticed a significant increase in enrollment within the past six years.

Officials at Ohio University Zanesville and Zane State have announced evening classes have been cancelled for Wednesday.

Zane State College has suspended classes until noon today (Wednesday) due to a power outage. Director of Marketing and Communications Tamra Pace says students should call the School before coming to campus. A power outage this morning has knocked out service to over 2600 American Electric Power Customers. Service is expected to be restored by around 11:00 Wednesday morning. A-E-P says a squirrel got into a sub-station and caused the outage.

United State Senator Sherrod Brown Tuesday announced that three million dollars is headed to Zane State College. Brown says the funds will help the college train and prepare workers for employment in high growth and other emerging industries. The governor was in Cambridge today at the Zane State Willet Pratt Training Center to speak about how the college and the Appalachian Regional Commission are working to improve and invest in the people of Appalachia.

Congressman Zack Space pays a visit to our community to congratulate our future leaders.

At a Graduates Leadership Conference at Zane State this morning the Congressman makes an appearance to support the students.
He tells us that a lot of these kids have overcome a ton to be in this program.

One Zane State club is walking to spread awareness about suicide prevention.

The Human Services Tech Club is holding its first "Walk of Hope," which Club Secretary, Brooke Papageorge says took about three months to put together.

"It's something we put together to help people walk out of darkness for hope and for light, to just take one day at a time and to realize that people do need somebody to talk to. You know, depression really hurts, " says Papageorge....
