(ZANESVILLE) -- Fisher Catholic came in with some prolific scoring displays this season, but left Riverside Park with nothing except their second loss of the season. Thomas Boggs starting the scoring, converting a penalty kick in the first half, with Logan Lazar following that up with a goal of his own in the first half. Rosecrans remains undefeated on the season.
(ZANESVILLE) -- A hat trick from Amman Lalusa proved too much for the Zanesville, as West M picked up the win 3-1 on Saturday. Freshman Doug Welker provided the Blue Devils only score in the losing effort. It's the first win of the year for the Tornadoes, and the first defeat of the season for ZHS.
It's normal to think 9-1 gets a team into the playoffs. But in 2009, that mark wasn't good enough for Zanesville. As devastating as it was, the Devils are leaving normal in the past with their new hard-hitting scheme in 2010. Dan Wolfgang has the story. [Click the video link to watch]
One of the areas biggest rivals are going head to head.
The Zanesville Blue Devils and the Newark Wild Cats participated in a UCA cheerleading camp this week and Wednesday had a cheer off.
"They definitely will go at in the the competition but they are all being very friendly and it's a good chance them to learn sportsman ship but that rivalry is still there," Zanesville Cheerleading Head Coach Stephanie Jones said.
